What is the coronavirus?

Coronavirus Disease 2019 or Covid-19 is an infectious disease of humans caused by an attack of a type of virus called coronavirus that causes severe respiratory symptoms.

The disease was first reported in December 2019 in Wuhan, China. Later, in early 2020, the disease spread worldwide and took the form of a global epidemic. Fever, runny nose and shortness of breath are the common symptoms of the disease.

In some cases, muscle aches, frequent spitting, and sore throats may occur. The average mortality rate after infection is 3.4%, compared to 0.2% for patients under 20 and about 15% for patients over 60.

The previous symptoms of this virus are -

1. Cold

2. Sore throat

3. Cough

4. Headache

5. Fever

6. Sneezing

7. Exhaustion

8. Difficulty breathing.

In this case, the immune system is weakened and serious illnesses such as pneumonia or shortness of breath are more likely to occur. Adults are more likely to be infected with the virus.

The symptoms of Mars and SARS are severe, leading to severe respiratory problems, kidney problems, diarrhea and even death.

Diagnosis of human coronavirus is diagnosed through a number of tests, such as molecular tests: to detect signs of active infection.

Serology test: This test is done for the purpose of observation. This is done to detect antibodies from previous infections, which reveal the type of virus in a person's body.

The exact treatment of human coronavirus has not yet been discovered. Several vaccines are still being studied. However, there are many helpful medical methods and medications that can treat mild to moderate symptoms.

What to do to prevent coronavirus (Covid-19) infection

Coronavirus (Covid-19) or coronavirus infection prevention measures are given below.

Maintaining social distance:

Coronavirus can be present in the body of any person unknowingly for more than two weeks without any symptoms. If a person carrying such a coronavirus sneezes or coughs for any reason, the water particles carrying the coronavirus begin to float in the surrounding air within a distance of 3 to 6 feet and the virus can enter the body of any other person within that range through normal breathing.

Due to the high population density, such areas should be avoided as much as possible unless absolutely necessary so that potential coronavirus particles floating in the air cannot enter the body through inhalation.

Hand washing and disinfection:

Coronavirus can be found in various objects in the environment, so if someone touches them with his hand, he can also get the coronavirus in his hand. Some studies have shown that coronavirus can stay on the surface of wood, plastic or metal objects for an average of four to five days.

People have to touch them with their hands all the time to make a living. So it is very important to wash your hands thoroughly after touching them and disinfect them. Particular attention should be paid to the following hand-risk areas.

Touching another person's personal object that is frequently touched with the hand, such as a mobile phone (mobile phone), laptop, etc.

Touching the buttons, keys, keyboards, and handles of numerous personal touch devices, such as ATMs (cash dispensers) and other devices (such as laptops, computer monitors in stores or elsewhere).

Touching any furniture (chairs, tables, etc.) outside your home with your hands.

Touching the door handle of any room or vehicle outside your home.

Touch the inside of paper money, bank debit or credit cards, etc. and where they are kept, such as wallets or purses.

Touching the dishes-bowls-pots or bottles-glasses of the restaurant or any other food selling shop by hand. Many people touch these utensils, and it is not possible to be completely sure whether they have always been properly disinfected.

Hand towels or handkerchiefs that touch more than one person in any place outside the house.

Shaking hands or hugging or coming in close contact with someone on the street or elsewhere outside the house.

Care should be taken after touching the above areas with hands and wash and disinfect hands as often as possible.

The following procedure should be followed for hand washing:

First you have to soak your hands well in clean water.

After that you have to apply special disinfectant soap (if not possible ordinary soap) and rub the whole hand with foam.

Make sure that soap is applied to each finger of the hand, so that the finger of one hand is inserted between the fingers of the other hand and rubbed.

Be sure to rub the thumb of both hands with soap.

The palm of one hand should be rubbed with the palm of the other hand and the back of the other hand should be rubbed completely with the palm of one hand.

The bottom of each nail should be cleaned well.

The surface under them should also be cleaned by removing the watch, ring or any other hand-worn item.

Lift the foam for at least 20 seconds and rub your hands well.

Wash your hands thoroughly in soapy water, not in stagnant water.

After washing your hands, you should dry your hands thoroughly with a disposable paper towel, not a towel or a handkerchief, as research has shown that the virus spreads 100 times more in wet hands.

Hands cannot be dried with a towel used by more than one person, and hands cannot be dried repeatedly with the same towel, so no type of towel or handkerchief should be used other than a single-use paper handkerchief.

After drying the hands, turn off the water tap with a paper handkerchief and open the door handle of the toilet.

This is because water taps and toilet doors can be infected. Then the paper handkerchief should be thrown in the covered waste container.

Since you have to wash your hands several times a day, it is best to use a mild soap for the skin.

If soap and water are not available, hand wash with special hand disinfectant solution containing at least 70% alcohol. However, it is best to wash dirty hands with soap and water whenever the opportunity arises.

It is important to remember the following instructions to know when to wash your hands:

Wash your hands after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.

Wash your hands immediately after visiting any public places, including public transport, markets, or places of worship.

Wash hands after arriving at work from home.

Wash your hands when you get home from work.

Wash your hands after touching the surface of any object outside the house. (See high-risk areas above)

Wash hands before, during or after serving any patient.

Wash hands before and after meals.

Wash your hands after using the toilet.

Wash your hands after catching waste.

Wash hands after touching pets or any other animal.

Wash hands after holding baby diapers or helping babies defecate.

If hands look dirty, wash hands immediately.

In order to prevent coronavirus transmission from one patient to another or to any other person in a hospital or health center, all health workers working there must wash and disinfect their hands at the following 5 times:

If there is a possibility of juice or liquid on the skin, immediately after touching the patient and after touching the environment around the patient.

Ensuring hand washing and disinfection facilities:

In restaurants, tea and coffee houses, shops, markets, malls, shopping malls, etc., adequate amount of paper handkerchiefs or tissue paper should be provided for covering the face with sneezing and coughing and for drying wet hands.

Hand sanitizer and / or soap and water should be used for hand washing. To dispose of paper handkerchiefs after use (not open, but) lid bins or bins should be arranged.

Whenever possible you should have a sterile bottle and a handkerchief (tissue paper) with you when traveling outside the home.

Do not touch the nose, mouth and eyes with hands:

Coronavirus can only enter the body through the exposed mucous membranes of the nose, mouth and eyes. The coronavirus present in the environment can be caught by hand through touch.

Therefore, nose, mouth and eyes should never be touched with infected germs. If you have to put your hands over your nose and mouth, you must wash your hands and disinfect them, or touch your nose, mouth and eyes using a paper handkerchief.

Therefore, always ensure the presence of soap-water or alcohol-based hand disinfectant or paper handkerchief at hand. This very important rule can be difficult for many to follow.

Touching the nose, mouth and eyes is a very common and normal phenomenon and almost everyone does it for a long time due to habit. Some studies have shown that people touch different parts of the face with their hands more than 20 times an hour.

But to prevent coronavirus infection in your body, you need to be much more aware of this practice. Many people put their hands in their noses, mouths, and eyes because of stress, when thinking deeply, for some unknown reason, or because of itching.

So first, every person has to do regular self-observation for some time to see at what time or for what reason he is touching his nose, eyes or mouth.

After identifying the causes and becoming aware of them, one should try to eliminate them one by one and reduce the level of hand contact on the nose, mouth and eyes as much as possible.

Coronavirus release by cleaning the environment:

Items in the home and office that many outsiders touch with their hands, such as door handles, computer keyboards and monitor screens, laptop computers, mobile phones or any other widely used furniture, need to be cleaned regularly from time to time with antiseptic spray or solution.

After coming from outside, wearable clothes and other widely used clothes such as bedsheets, etc. should be washed regularly.

What to do about potential coronavirus-carrying individuals

A minimum distance of 3 to 6 feet should be maintained from the person having fever, cold, cough and sneezing so that the virus particles floating in the air do not enter the body through inhalation.

Spitting should not be done on the streets and everywhere, as the virus can be spread from the spit.

The person coughing or sneezing must cover their nose and mouth with a temporary paper handkerchief or tissue paper when coughing or sneezing, and the paper handkerchief must be discarded immediately.

Coughing and sneezing cannot be covered with empty hands, as it can cause germs in the hands (if you cover sneezing and coughing with your hands, you should wash your hands immediately).

If you do not have a paper handkerchief, cover your face with the folds of the elbows or the upper part of the sleeves of the cloth and sneeze and cough.

Anyone with symptoms of coronavirus should contact a health center or emergency phone immediately so that they can be tested quickly and quarantined if necessary.
