| How do you tell if Google data is reliable |
Google is taking extra precautions in presenting information on any rapidly changing subject. In a blog post yesterday, Google said that if it searches for information on such matters and the results do not have reliable source information, the search engine will show a warning if necessary.
Suppose there is a big earthquake somewhere. No reliable media or source has yet published the news of what just happened. The miscreants tried to spread fake information on this occasion. This is a new initiative to reduce the spread of misinformation through Google.
Google will show a warning in the search results
If there is a lack of reliable information, Google will display a message on the search results saying 'the information shown in the results is changing rapidly'.
Just below it will be written, "If the subject is new, it may take some time to add information from reliable sources in the search results."
Google's software system will fix when that message is shown. Danny Sullivan, Google Search's public relations officer, wrote on a blog post, "We will show you the message from now on until you get enough information from a trusted source."
According to the Senate report, platforms such as Google, Facebook and Twitter have been criticized in recent times as a means of spreading fake information.
Many point out that the platforms have failed to show adequate responsibility, especially in presenting corona-virus and election-related information. And that's why Google launched the new facility.
